About the event

Ceremony for Revolutionary Seeds is a multi-site community tea experience exploring the stories, labor, resilience, and wisdom of revolutionary-era Black women through the lens of native New Jersey botanicals.

These ceremonies are rituals of care, reflection, and connection inspired by African diasporic traditions. Participants are invited to share in acts of tending, pouring, and receiving tea—symbolic gestures of nourishment, protection, and community—while reflecting on the lives and legacies of Revolutionary-era Black women whose care sustained their families and communities.

Each gathering features a custom regional tea blend inspired by the unique landscape and history of its host location.
